Luke Austen EP Completed

November 4, 2008 9:32 am

I had the pleasure of recording an EP with Luke Austen in the last couple of weeks.  Luke is Troy Cassar-Daly’s bass player and a great guy to boot!  We recorded the album under Troy’s pool in his studio.  The album features Luke on Vocals and Guitars (no bass!) Chris Hague on Bass (and guitars) Vaughan Jones on Keys and BVs, and Scott Hills on Drums.  We mixed at my studio and then it was sent to Jeff McCormack for mastering.

Recording New Carisma Album

9:24 am

This week I was in the studio recording Carisma at Ghostgum Audio for their upcoming 2009 Release Album on ABC Classics.  The trio of Flute, Harp and Cello offer a unique blend in this upcoming Celtic Album.   David Jones (drums & percussion) is a guest performer with the group, adding to his appearance on their last album Lily’s Eyes.  Editting and mixing will take place in the next couple of weeks.

Queensland Bulls - I Love Cricket 2008 Jingle

October 1, 2008 10:20 am

This jingle is a bit of a new direction for Queensland Cricket.  It is turned out to be quite a good little track.  Makes me want to go to the cricket at least…. Written by Mark McDuff and sung by Daniel McGahan.

Bindi Kidfit 2 Jungle Dance Party Finally Finished!

September 8, 2008 1:34 pm

Well, since not having an update for a while, alot of things have changed in the last couple of months.

Bindi Irwin won an Emmy Award for Best Children’s Presenter. One of the songs that Mark McDuff wrote and I engineered, Save Me was also nominated, but didn’t win, plus also the opening Title sequence was also nominated (graphics and music) but didn’t win, oh well…

Anyway the real news is that we have just sent away the masters for Bindi’s new Kidfit 2 DVD/CD - Jungle dance party. 12 All new songs written by Mark and engineered by yours truely. I even get a vocal credit although I’m not telling which songs I am on… The DVD/CD package is to be released at the end of September, and will hopefully follow with a US release of the CD. It has been an excellent, fun project to work with a great cast. Albeit 8 months in the making…

Here is a link to the Kidfit 2 Press release at EMI

Bindi’s CD Jungle Dance Party is available at the iTunes music sore.  Just search for Bindi Irwin.

Edit:  Bindi’s Kidfit 2 has shipped platinum. 70000 units in the first week!

Who, what when where why? Sunday Mail

August 20, 2008 10:21 am

Sunday Mail Jingle… Who what when where why? There is a voiceover at the start of this track which is why there is a big gap to the singing at the end - just use your imagination!
